Soft Ground - A Community Printmaking Project

€0.00

Five Monday sessions at Balbriggan Library: 5th, 12th, 19th, 26th October & 2nd November

10am - 12.30 pm

Balbriggan Library

Cost: Free (all materials included)

Ever wanted to try printmaking but never had the chance? This is your opportunity!

Soft Ground is a hands-on printmaking project for anyone curious to learn from an experienced printmaker, no experience, no equipment, and no art background required. Over five sessions, you'll learn real printmaking techniques: working with plates, inks, and a proper etching press.

But this isn't a technical class. Soft Ground is about Balbriggan, the streets you walk, the places you love, the everyday feelings and experiences that make up home. Using the town's Great Places & Spaces map as a jumping-off point, you'll create your own printed responses to the place you live in. What you make and where you take it is entirely up to you.

You'll leave with new skills, original prints, and hopefully a new way of looking at the place you call home.

Soft Ground is delivered by artist Maria Atanacković (Maluda) in partnership with Thrive Balbriggan, as part of Creative Places Balbriggan's Making Waves programme. It is a five week project and participants should be available for all the sessions.

Places are limited, sign up now!

If for any reason you are unable to attend after booking, please let Maria know as soon as possible so that your spot can be given to someone else.
