Mir I Architectural Formica and Wood Statement Earrings

€48.00

Mir means peace and these earrings were inspired by safety of a home: the feeling of walls around you, a roof overhead and a door you can close behind you. A little triangle of muted yellow lets the light in.

Each earring is a tall, cut from Formica and wood. They are light enough to wear all day, and the pair is a mirror image, left and right. Each pair is handmade in my studio at Ardgillan Castle in Dublin, Ireland.

I also work in assemblage, and these earrings are cut from the offcuts left over. Nothing goes to waste, and every pair is a small piece of a bigger artwork. Because I can only use the colours left over, each design is made in small numbers.
