Kaiku I Stepped Formica Statement Earrings

€48.00

Kaiku means echo. These earrings are made of three stepped rectangles in lemon yellow, olive green and cobalt blue, each one set slightly lower and further out than the one above. The same shape repeats down the earring, kind of like how a sound repeats.

They are cut from Formica and wood and weigh almost nothing, so the colour is easy to wear from morning to night. The two earrings mirror each other, and I make every pair by hand in my studio at Ardgillan Castle in Dublin. The material comes from the offcuts of my larger artworks, which means each pair is a small leftover of a biggerpiece, and I only have enough of each colour to make a limited amount.
